Fire Trucks (Fire Engines)

The water capacity of a fire truck depends on its type and function. There are various categories including ladder truck, brush truck, quint fire truck, tiller fire truck, and more. Below are typical classifications and their approximate water tank capacities:

  • Small Water Tank Fire Trucks: Typically carry 2,000–4,000 liters (2–4 tons) of water. Compact types like Japanese fire trucks are ideal for narrow city roads.

  • Medium Fire Trucks: Usually equipped with 6,000–8,000 liters (6–8 tons) of water, commonly used in towns or industrial areas.

  • Large Fire Trucks: Can hold 10,000–15,000 liters (10–15 tons) of water. Some technical trucks or tiller trucks can even carry up to 18,000 liters or more.

  • Water Supply Fire Trucks: Designed to transport large volumes of water, with capacities reaching 25,000 liters (25 tons) or more.

Famous truck manufacturers like Rosenbauer and Sutphen offer a wide variety of models, from classic fire engine red finishes to custom-painted yellow fire trucks and black fire trucks.

For collectors, old fire trucks and fire replicas remain popular among enthusiasts.
