In April 2025, globally renowned fire apparatus manufacturer Rosenbauer officially delivered the first Rosenbauer RTX electric fire truck in Latin America to the Santiago Volunteer Fire Department (Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago, CBS) in Chile. When battery levels drop below a set threshold, an integrated BMW 3.0L inline-six 300HP diesel range extender seamlessly kicks in, ensuring uninterrupted performance even in demanding rescue scenarios.

CBS: Tradition Meets Innovation
Founded in 1863 in response to a tragic fire at the Jesuit Church in Santiago that claimed over 2,000 lives, CBS is the largest and oldest volunteer fire department in Chile. Today, it operates 22 divisions, includes approximately 2,000 volunteer firefighters, and maintains a fleet of 51 professional emergency vehicles, including advanced Rosenbauer fire apparatus.
The 5th Company, which received the RTX, was established in 1873.
